Evidences of Their Human Nature:

Sins of the Prophets:

1- A prophet, like all humans, has a human soul. God states in

the Quran the following concerning every human soul: “And the soul and He

who proportioned it. And inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness.

Successful is he who purifies it. Failing is he who corrupts it.”(91:7-10).

2- A prophet is a member of humanity. God says regarding

humanity in the Quran: “If God were to punish the people for what they have

earned, He would not leave a single living creature on its

surface.”(35:45) This scripture indicates that if God were to punish

everyone for their crimes, they would all perish along with all other living

things. This consists of prophets.

3- Prophets are humans as long as they are alive. These passages

from the Quran pertain to all humans, including prophets: “Indeed, the

human being is ungrateful to his Lord. And the human being bears witness to

that. And the human being is fierce in love of wealth.” (100:6-8),

“In fact, man oversteps all bounds. When he considers himself

exempt.” (96:6-7), and “Perish man! How thankless he is!”(80:17).

Sins of the Prophets

Sins of the Prophets:evidences

1- Having established that prophets are mortal humans, the Quran

asserts that they are the finest of humanity and that God picked them for

divine revelation and prophetic duty. Allah states in the Quran: “God

chooses messengers from among the angels, and from among the people. God is

Hearing and Seeing.” (22:75). God has picked the greatest of humanity to

convey His word to others via them. We find the following in the

Quran:”…God knows best where to place His message…”(6:124).

2- God sends His messengers of the same country and ethnicity as

the recipients. If these individuals were Arabs, the prophet sent to them must

also be Arab. We find the following in the Quran: “It is He who sent among

the people a messenger from themselves” (62:2). If angels roamed the earth

and securely inhabited there, an angel-prophet would have been sent to them.

“Say: If there were angels on earth, walking around in peace, We would

have sent down to them from heaven an angel messenger.” (17:95).

3- God has instructed and disciplined His prophets and

messengers. For example, the Quran mentions Joseph in the following verse:

“And thus your Lord will choose you, and will teach you the interpretation

of events, and will complete His blessing upon you and upon the family of

Jacob, as He has completed it before upon your forefathers Abraham and

Isaac…”(12:6). Likewise, the Quran states about the Prophet Muhammad:

“Were it not for God’s grace towards you, and His mercy, a faction of them

would have managed to mislead you. But they only mislead themselves, and they cannot

harm you in any way. God has revealed to you the Scripture and wisdom, and has

taught you what you did not know. God’s goodness towards you is great.”

(4:113). This verse is preceded by previous verses that describe how Muhammad’s

parents conspired to conceal the truth from him by deceiving him and compelling

him to support an unjust offender. In this passage, we have the assurance that

God taught Muhammad the Scripture and wisdom; he was ignorant of both before to

the divine revelation, which revealed to him any mistakes he may have committed.

Prophet Muhammad is solely infallible in relation to the divine revelation that leads, disciplines, and directs him:

1- God speaks in the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad:

“Whatever good happens to you is from God, and whatever bad happens to you

is from your own self. We sent you to humanity as a messenger, and God is

Witness enough” (4:79). That is, whatever negative that occurred to him

was his fault. Yet, God has pardoned him and forgiven him of all his sins:

“That God may forgive you your sin, past and to come, and complete His

favors upon you, and guide you in a straight path.”(48:2). This means that

he had faults that were forgiven and that he was directed by God.

2- The Quran teaches unequivocally that if a prophet errs, it is

due to his own self and thoughts; God alone provides guidance. The Quran

instructs Mohammed: “Say, “If I err, I err only to my own loss; but

if I am guided, it is by what my Lord inspires me…” (34:50).

Sins of the Prophets: evidences passages from the Quran

1- Noah:

Sins of the ProphetsNoah gladly repented and God pardoned him when he pleaded for

God’s forgiveness for his non-believing son.”And Noah called to his Lord.

He said, “O My Lord, my son is of my family, and Your promise is true, and

You are the Wisest of the wise.”He said, “O Noah, he is not of your

family. It is an unrighteous deed. So do not ask Me about something you know

nothing about. I admonish you, lest you be one of the ignorant.”He said,

“O My Lord, I seek refuge with You, from asking You about what I have no

knowledge of. Unless You forgive me, and have mercy on me, I will be one of the

losers.””(11:45-48). This serves as a reminder for us to repent.

2- Abraham:

He was gently rebuked for attempting to argue against the

annihilation of the people of Lot when the heavenly decree to destroy them

arrived. He was worried and concerned for the safety of Lot and the other

believers. “When Abraham’s fear subsided, and the good news had reached

him, he started pleading with Us concerning the people of Lot. Abraham was

gentle, kind, penitent. “O Abraham, refrain from this. The command of your

Lord has come; they have incurred an irreversible

punishment.””(11:74-76).

The essential lesson from Sins of the Prophets

prophet Muhammad was a human; his sphere of not committing mistakes or faults

was limited to drafting and distributing the holy revelation of the Quran among

humans. However, Muhammadans, who worship the prophet as an immortal deity in

addition to God, do not comprehend this.

Join our Quran Courses to learn Quran Arabic and Tajweed online

God’s messengers are known as prophets..
