And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.\u201d \u2013 [Qur\u2019an 2:195]<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Is Dead Fish Halal or Haram?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fish that died of natural causes or another animal killed before being caught are known as dead fish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Some academics believe that eating dead fish (and dead animal carrion) is forbidden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is due to a Qur&#8217;anic passage in which Allah Almighty says:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u201cHe has only forbidden to you dead animals (carrion), blood, the flesh of swine\u2026\u201d \u2013 [Quran 2:173]<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dead fish are halal, according to this narration from our beloved Prophet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And that dead fish do not hold the same judge as eating dead land animals (carrion).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Here&#8217;s another authentic account from Allah&#8217;s Prophet (peace be upon him).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In this hadith, fish and all dead animals from the sea are halal and possible to eat for Muslims.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">&#8220;O Messenger of Allah, we go by sea and bring a small bit of water with us,&#8221; a man remarked to the Prophet (peace be upon him). We will become thirsty if we use it for ablution. Is it possible to ablution with seawater?&#8217; &#8216;Its water is a method of cleansing, and its dead flesh is permitted,&#8217; declared Allah&#8217;s Messenger. \u2013 [Sunan ibn Majah&#8217;s collection]<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Is Shellfish Halal or Haram?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Is shrimp halal? Allah Almighty says,\u00a0<strong>\u201cThe game of the sea and its food are lawful unto you.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(Al-Ma\u2019idah 5:96)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Because neither Allah nor His Messenger prohibited any type of fish from this permission (and we know for a fact that &#8220;Allah is never forgetful&#8221;), the vast majority of scholars believe that all varieties of fish found in water (which includes the sea, lakes, rivers, ponds, wells, and so on) are lawful for us to consume.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The language used here is broad, and we should apply it broadly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Furthermore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) someone asked him about the sea, and his reply was, &#8220;Its water is pure (for purification rites) and its fish is lawful for you to eat.&#8221; (Abu Dawud)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This was the view of imams such as Malik, Ash-Shafi&#8217;i, and Ahmad. It is also the opinion of Imam Abu Hanifah and his two leading disciples, Abu Yusuf and Muhammad, concerning all types of fish, including shellfish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to those experts, shellfish are not included in this category of legitimate seafish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0As a result, the former&#8217;s viewpoint is seen as the more powerful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shellfish are shelled aquatic fish that we classify as mollusks or crustaceans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shellfish include prawns, crabs, shrimp, lobsters, and oysters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The vast majority of Islamic scholars believe all varieties of shellfish to be halal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0As a result, prawns, shrimp, lobsters, crabs, and oysters are all considered halal in Islam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shellfish is considered halal by three of Sunni Islam&#8217;s four schools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0All non-harmful shellfish are halal to consume, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maliki_school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maliki<\/a>, Shafi&#8217;i, and Hanbalis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The lone exception is the Hanafi school of thinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0They think about it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Is Squid, Octopus, and Calamari Halal or Haram?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Is shrimp halal?
