The term has a broad definition that encompasses those who get the punishment (hadd) and those who do not. Zina is a term used in Islam to refer to various things, not merely those that carry the penalty.

Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah bless them both) said, “I have never heard a more refined definition of tiny errors [al-Najm 53:32] than what Abu Hurayrah (may Allah bless him) related from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): Allah has set aside a portion of Zina for each of Adam’s sons.

Zina meaning

The Zina of the eye is a glance, the Zina meaning of the tongue is speaking, and the Zina meaning of the mind is desiring and hoping; the private part then either acts or does not act on this. (Al-Bukhari reports 11/26; Muslim reports 4/2046.)

This hadeeth was presented in a chapter named Bab Zina al-jawarih doon al-farj by Al-Bukhari (Chapter on the zina meaning of faculties other than the private part).

zina meaning is not always related to the private portion itself, according to Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah pity him). It can also involve other faculties such as the eyes and so on.

Looking and speaking are called Zina because they lead to faithful Zina, according to Ibn Battal (may Allah pity him). As a result, he stated that the private component either acts or does not act on this.

In Islam, Zina is a grave sin

After shirk and murder, zinc is one of the forbidden deeds, one of the most grievous major crimes (Kabir). (Interpretation of the meanings) Allah says:

“And those who do not call any other god in addition to Allah, nor kill any life that Allah has banned, unless in the case of fair cause, nor engage in illegal sexual intercourse, and anyone does this will be punished.”

On the Day of Resurrection, his anguish will be multiplied, and he will remain in shame, except for those who repent, believe, and do good actions, for whom Allah will turn their sins into good deeds because Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [25:68-70 al-Furqan]

“And don’t even think of engaging in illegal sexual activity.” It is, surely, a fahishah [something that goes beyond its bounds is a major sin] and an evil path (which leads to Hell unless Allaah forgives you).” [al-Isra 17:32] [al-Isra 17:32]

Degrees of zina meaning

The zina scale is a scale that measures how much zina is present in all Zina is haram, a severe sin and an act of immorality, the severity of the offense varies on the type and circumstances of the deed. Zina with a mahram [i.e., incest] (Allah forbid) or a married woman is far worse than Zina with a woman to whom one is not related or with an unmarried woman because it involves infringing on the husband’s rights, contaminating his bed, attributing a child to him who is not his, and other forms of offense and harm.

The offense of being a terrible neighbor is added to the crime if her husband is a neighbor. The felony of breaking family relations is added if her husband is a brother or relative. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated, “He who does not protect his neighbor from his wicked conduct will not enter Paradise.” (Muslim, 1/68).

There is no vice more heinous than zina, meaning the fault is multiplied when the spouse is away for Allah’s sake, such as in worship, seeking knowledge, or jihad. According to Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The mujahideen’s wives are as sacred and forbidden as the mujahideen themselves.

Zina’s punishment

Zina meaning and punishment: If the adulterer is married, the sin is greater, and the punishment is stoning; if he is an older person, the sin is greater, and the sentence is as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned in the hadeeth about the three whom Allah will not look at or praise on the Day of Resurrection, and who will suffer a painful punishment. (Muslim Saheeh, 156)

The offense is compounded if the deed is also committed during a sacred month, on a holy site, or at a particular time in Allah’s eyes.

What exactly is zina meaning?

The jurists (may Allah have compassion on them) explained that the actual act of Zina that carries the punishment is illegal sexual intercourse. The two circumcised parts [i.e. genitals] come together. The tip of the penis is penetrated because this is actual penetration (which carries the prescribed hadd or punishment).

What is the path to zina meaning?

Evil deeds and all that can lead to them must be avoided. Allah has commanded us to avoid the Shaytaan’s traps, for if a man takes one step in that direction, his shaytan and ego (nafs) will continue to urge him to do wrong until he does immoral acts.

As the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) put it, “If one of you were stabbed in the brain with a piece of iron, it would be better for him than if he were to touch a woman who is not lawful for him to touch.” (Al-Tabaraani reported it; see also Saheeh al-Jaami, 5045.)

This relates to the penalty for touching, but what about more serious offenses like hugging and kissing and even more heinous acts? For every confirmed activity other than actual intercourse, the Muslim judge has the authority to impose an appropriate sentence.

Adulterers, will they be forgiven?

One of the essential ideas emphasized by the salaf (may Allah have compassion on them) is that the true believer who truly wishes for Allaah and the Hereafter should not consider whether the sin is significant or minor or whether or not it entails a punishment (hadd). According to Ibn Abbas, there is no major sin if one asks for pardon, and there is no minor sin if one persists in repeating it (may Allah be pleased with them both). Someone else remarked, “If you desire to disobey Allah, think about the greatness of the One Whom you are disobeying, not the smallness of the sin.”
