The dua is an essential part of Islam. It consists of two words, “Astadhfirullah.” These two words form the basis of any dua you might have. If you’re not sure what it means to say “Astadhfirullah,” it’s a Persian phrase that means “I seek refuge in Allah from Satan.” It’s also a daily reminder to Muslims worldwide to seek refuge in Allah when they feel fear and anxiety because the world can be a scary place sometimes.

Believing in Allah is one of the foundations of Islam. In Islam, you’re required to say “Al-Fatihah,” the first chapter of the Quran, at least once a day. Saying this dua has many benefits that correlate to your faith and your daily life. Here are some reasons why you should tell “Astadhfirullah” every day.

What is the meaning of “Astadhfirullah?”

It is an honorific title for Allah in the daily duas of Muslims. It is also used in the final phrase of prayers, which ends with “Amanah-yun-Qur’an minimum.”

Relief and joy may be found at Istighfar (Astaghfirullah). As soon as you feel yourself becoming anxious, begin reciting this surah and Insha Allah; it will relieve your tension, restore your sense of calm, and provide you with joy.

(Al-Isra 17:25)

“And verily, I am indeed Forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them, (till his death).”

(Ta-Ha 20:82)

dua al-astaghfirullah

It’s written this way in Arabic:

أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبي مِنْ كُلِ ذَنبٍ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ

Astaghfirullah Rabbi Minkulli zambiyon Wa Atoobu Ilyh

Translation: I turn to Allah, my Lord, and seek His pardon for my transgressions.

So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity besides Allah and beg pardon for your sin and the believing men and believing women,” said Allah in Surah Muhammad ayat 19 to Prophet Muhammad ( ). And Allah knows where you’ve been and where you’re going.

astaghfirullah meaning

The word “astaghfirullah” is a word used to refer to Allah in the daily duas of Muslims when referencing His name. It means that the person praying acknowledges that they are in the presence of Allah and asking for His blessings. The Arabic word astaghfirullah can also be translated as “I seek refuge with Allah from all evil.”

One of the essential duas is Istighfar, which simply states, “Astaghfirullah” (I seek forgiveness of Allah). On an average day, this was said at least 100 times by the Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam). Therefore, this wonderful prayer has several advantages and merits to examine Insha Allah.

astaghfirullah wa atubu ilaih

It has been reported by the Prophet (PBUH) that the dua I am about to share with you today is so potent that it may pardon a person’s sins.

Allah would even forgive him for fleeing from the battlefield while fighting for Allah.

Subhanallah.

A hadith says that turning one’s back in war is equivalent to committing shirk or riba, which gives you an idea of how potent this supplication is:

When Abu Hurairah heard this, he responded, “The Messenger of Allah told us to avoid the seven sins that lead to Hell.”

“O Messenger of Allah, what are they?” was a question posed.

Shirk, magic, the killing of a person whom Allah forbids the death of, except in cases prescribed by Islamic law, the consumption of Riba and the consumption of orphans’ property, fleeing on the day of the march, and slandering chaste women who are good believers and never even consider anything touching their innocence, were among the things he listed.

Conclusion

Astaghfirullah is a phrase that means “I ask for Allah’s forgiveness.” Muslims recite it before sleeping and during the morning prayers. It is an integral part of the daily dua, or prayer.

Astaghfirullah also aids us in avoiding all types of transgressions, including sinning. Saying this repeatedly helps us remember that Allah is all-pervasive, reducing the likelihood of us engaging in wrongdoing.
