رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ

Our Lord! Decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide.
Surah Al-A’raf – 7:89
Story of Shouayb, May the peace and the land of Madyan be upon him
Muhammad bin Ishaq said, “They (the people of Madyan) are the descendants of Madyan, son of Midyan, son of Ibrahim. Shu’ayb was the son of Mikil bin Yashjur. And in Syrian language, his name was Yathroun (Jethro) “.
Madyan was the name of the tribe and also a town near Ma’an on the road to Hijaz (Ash-Sham).
Allah says, “And to the people of Madyan, we sent their brother Shuayb. He said, “O my people, worship Allah. you have no other god than him. He has come to you clear proofs of your Lord. Then fill the measure and the weight and do not deprive people of their due and do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation. It’s better for you, if you are believers. “(7:85)
However, (88) The leaders of those who were arrogant among his people said, “We will certainly drive you away, O Shuayb and those who have believed with you from our city, otherwise you will return to our religion.” He said: “Even if we hate him”)
(89. “We should have invented a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion after Allah delivered us from it, and it is not up to us to return unless Allah, our Lord, wants it. Our Lord understands everything, what is his knowledge In Allah (alone), we put our trust Our Lord, judge between us and our people in truth, for you are the best of those who deliver judgment. “)
This part of the Ayah refers to Allah’s will for all affairs, and certainly, he has perfect knowledge of all affairs and his observation encompasses all things,
(In Allah (alone), we put our trust.), Regarding all our affairs, what we practice and what we do not know,
(Our Lord, judge between us and our people in truth) Judge between us and our people and give us victory over them,
(because you are the best of those who make a judgment) and you are the most just who never harms his judgment.
(90. The leaders of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people), “If you follow Shuayb, make sure you are the losers!”) (91. The earthquake seized them and they have fallen (dead), prostrate themselves at home.) (92. Those who denied Shuayb became as though they had never lived there) Those who denied Shuayb were the losers.)
