La ilaha illallah

What exactly does it mean to be a Muslim? The solution isn’t as complex as you would believe.

To be a Muslim, you must honestly believe in God’s ultimate oneness or uniqueness, known as Tawhid in Islam.

A devout believer considers Allah the sole entity worthy of worship; no other entity, partnership, or idols are worthy of adoration.

No one can compare to Allah as the ultimate creator. Things only happen as a result of his volition.

The belief in his Messenger, Prophet Muhammad, is the other criterion of being a Muslim (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam).

It’s as simple as that.

This is what Islam is all about at its core.

The phrase la Ilaha Illallah Muhammad Rasulullah epitomizes this notion, known as Shahada.

La ilaha illallah meaning

Nothing except Allah Sub’hana Wa Ta’ala ought to be worshipped, according to La Ilaha Illallah.

We are all aware that other Ilah (gods) worshiped in today’s globe.

Are they, however, deserving of your adoration? No. They do not have the right to worship.

It signifies that you must stop worshipping anybody other than Allah and stop making Duas to anyone other than Allah.

You must stop trusting anybody in the same manner that you trust Allah, loving anyone in the same way you love Allah, and fearing anyone in the same way that you dread Allah.

And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and establishing prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion. – Surah Bayyina Ayah 5

La Ilaha IllAllah Muhammadur Rasulullah

La ilaha illallah muhammadur rasool allah is written in Arabic.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ‎

As previously stated, this includes two concepts:

  • Allah is the only deity.
  • His Messenger is Prophet Muhammad (A.S.).

The Shahada is a proclamation that includes Ashadualla, which means “I testify.” The complete Shahada is written in Arabic as:

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ‎

Ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadarrasulullah = is the transliteration.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

“I give testimony that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is Allah’s messenger,” the precise translation reads.

The Importance and Virtues of say La Ilaha illallah

For every Muslim, saying “There is no deity but God” is essential.

The most prominent of these benefits are as follows:

When our Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam arrived in Makkah and began his message, he first addressed the people to La Llaha Illallah

The first prohibition in the Quran is not to associate Allah with partners.

Although the Prophet lived in Makkah for 13 years, the Salah was deemed mandatory after ten years of his prophecy.

However, he called out to Tawheed for the first ten years, “La Ilaha Illallah.” Salah became obligatory after then, and Salah embodies “La Ilaha Illallah.”

The messenger of Allah (RadhiAllahu Anhu) said to Abu Sa’id and Abu Hurairah (RadhiAllahu Anhu):

“Remind those who are on their death bed of the Shahadah “La’Ilaha all-ah.” (for them to say it, hoping it will be their last words)” – Bulugh al-Maram 535, 536

This phrase takes this stance. This is the first Kalimah (statement of faith) for someone who wishes to become a Muslim, and it is intended that a Muslim will be able to repeat this Kalimah as his dying words.

In Shaa Allah, it is hoped that this phrase would lead you to Jannah.

The Day of Judgment’s Weight

‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr related that Allah’s Messenger (saw) said:

“A man from my nation will be called before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, and ninety-nine scrolls will be spread out for him, each one extending as far as the eye can see. Then Allah will say: “Do you deny anything of this?” He will say: “No, O Lord.” He will say: “Have My recording scribes been unfair to you?” Then He will say: “Apart from that, do you have any good deeds?” The man will be terrified and will say: “No.” (Allah) will say: “Indeed, you have good deeds with Us, and you will not be treated unjustly this Day.” Then a card will be brought out on which is written Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu (I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger). He will say: “O Lord, what is this card compared with these scrolls?” He will say: “You will not be treated unjustly.” Then the scrolls will be placed on one side of the Balance and the card on the other. The scrolls will go up (i.e., be light), and the card will go down (i.e., will weigh heavily).” – Sunan Ibn Majah 4300

Arafat’s Du’aa

On the Day of Arafah dua, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

La ilaha illallah takes this stance. This is the first Kalimah (statement of faith) for someone who wishes to become a Muslim, and it is intended that a Muslim will be able to repeat this Kalimah as his dying words. In Shaa Allah, it is hoped that La ilaha illallah would lead you to Jannah.

How can I concentrate more on Tawheed?

La ilaha illallah
La ilaha illallah

Make sure our Niyyah is correct

Intentions are the only thing that drives actions.

As a result, we must refresh our purpose before, during, and after each action to ensure that we act only for Allah’s sake.

Sincerity

We must remember and concentrate on our emotions to determine if we act only for Allah’s sake.

Keep in mind that it is Haqullah

Allah’s Haqq / right that we worship no one except Him.

Many times repeat the sentence “La ilaaha illallah.”

Remarks

Be aware of what we say. When we speak or call out to Allah, we should remember that we are only talking to Him and not to someone who has died or is buried.

Action

When we do Ibadah, such as:

  • Salah
  • Saum
  • Hajj, and so on

We attempt to remember and make a deliberate effort to remember that we are doing it only for Allah’s benefit.
