You should know that the Quran affirms his virgin birth at her time (a chapter of the Quran is titled ‘Mary’), and Mary is regarded as the purest woman in the universe.

The following is how the Quran recounts Jesus’ creation (interpretation of the meaning):

Jesus (peace be upon him) was born miraculously through the same power which had brought Adam (peace be upon him) into being without a father: “Truly, the likeness of Jesus unto Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, and then said to him, `Be!’ and he was.” (Al Imran 3:59)

“Behold! the Angel said, `God has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name shall be the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and the Hereafter, and one that shall speak to the people from his cradle and in maturity, and shall be of the righteous.’ She said: `O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?’ He said: `Even so; God creates what He wills. When He decrees a thing, He but says to it, “Be!” and it is.” (Al Imran 3:42-7)

What language did Jesus speak?

God be praised, and God’s peace and blessings are with the Messenger of God, his family, and associates. As for what follows:

The language of Jesus, peace be upon him, is the language of his people who used to speak during his time.

As God Almighty said: And We did not send any messenger except in the language of his people (Ibrahim: 4)

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ {إبراهيم:4}

Perhaps this language is the Syriac language, one of the Semitic languages.

We did not find evidence to prove or deny that he spoke in other languages.

God knows.

God bestowed these miracles on him to establish him as a prophet.

He was not crucified, according to the Quran, but only appeared to be crucified; instead, Allah raised him to Heaven. 4:157) (An-Nisa)

Neither Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) nor Jesus (peace be upon him) came to change, but to confirm and renew the fundamental doctrine of the belief in one God, which earlier prophets had brought.

Jesus (peace be upon him) is reported to have said in the Quran that he came:

“To attest the law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden you; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey me.” (al Imran 3:50)

How long was Maryam pregnant with Eesa (peace be upon him)?

In the light talking about when was Jesus born? and Maryam.

Was Maryam, a virgin, nine months pregnant with ‘Eesa (peace be upon him)?

Or did she give birth to him when the angels came to her and instructed her to take refuge at the trunk of the palm tree?

The scholars disagreed on the length of Maryam’s pregnancy with ‘Eesa.’

Most people believe it was nine months, just like all other humans.

‘Ikrimah said: Eight months, and added. As a result, no kid delivered at eight months’ gestation lives to maintain ‘Eesa’s uniqueness.

Ibn ‘Abbaas was quoted as saying, “No sooner had she gotten pregnant than she delivered birth.”

Regarding this account told by Ibn ‘Abbaas, Ibn Katheer says (3/117):

This is odd, and it appears that it was derived from the apparent meaning of the verses in which Allaah states (interpretation of the meaning):

“So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a distant place (i.e., Bethlehem valley about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem). And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date palm” [Maryam 19:22]
