33 powerful ways to defeat fear … right now

Passing through fear is a skill that everyone can learn.

The problem is that most people cling to their fears because that’s part of their personality.

If you are not ready to face your fears, you will probably not surpass them.

And there is nothing wrong with that. Everything is going at his own pace.

If you read this article, I’m pretty sure you’re ready to take another step forward.

You searched for this information or ran into it, which is not just a coincidence.

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite ways of dealing with fear.

How to start overcoming fear, now

awareness. Before you can overcome fear, you must be aware that your fears are wreaking havoc in your life. It’s easy to be so attached to your thoughts and feelings that you think they are all that exists, which could not be further from the truth. You are not your fears. You are the consciousness that experiences it.

Identify. Be specific about what you are afraid of. Look at the pictures you have in your head about the situation. What’s going on in them? What are you really afraid of? Become an observer of your interior space.

Curiosity. Although curiosity may have killed the cat, it certainly will not hurt you by investigating your fears. Be curious to know what thoughts generate your fear, where do you feel this fear and how do you react to it? Again, be an observer of what is happening.

The now. What are you missing right now? When you focus on the present, you realize that everything is like that. You naturally accept what is. Exploiting the present moment can be as simple as feeling your body and your breath. My favorite book on the subject is Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

EFT. EFT is an abbreviation of Emotional Freedom Techniques. You use your fingers to exploit the meridian points of your body while thinking of a fear that you have and this attenuates and sometimes even gets rid of fear. Simple but extremely powerful.

Sedona method. Another simple system to overcome fear is the Sedona method. It consists of asking a few simple questions while focusing on your fear. It’s so simple that I dismissed it several times before taking it seriously. Bad movement!

The work. The work is very similar to the Sedona method in that it asks questions. The Work is one of my favorite ways to handle fears, anxieties and worries. There are many methods available, so choose the one you are resonating with.

hypnosis. With hypnosis, you can program good thoughts in your mind and eliminate negative thoughts and beliefs. It does not work for everyone, but maybe for you. My brother uses it to constantly evoke positive changes in his life. But remember, it’s not necessarily about getting rid of your fears, but learning to understand them differently.

Gratitude. Whenever you feel fear, use what you are grateful for. If you are afraid to speak in public, be grateful to have the opportunity to communicate with so many people and listen to you to hear what you have to say.

Logging. Reducing your fears on paper is important because trying to think about them does not work. You are caught in endless loops of negativity that only take you further into the rabbit’s burrow and make your life miserable.

Speak. A simple advice, but how often do we hold back the negative because we are afraid of the reaction of others or for some other reason? Talk about help, but do not make a pity party for yourself.

Therapy. If you can find a good therapist, the therapy can be very beneficial, even change your life. Finding the right therapist for you can be difficult. Listen to your heart and choose someone who resonates with you.

NLP. PNL is an abbreviation of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I attended a seminar with co-founder Richard Bandler. You learn how your mind works. NLP has helped thousands of people eliminate phobias, fears and other emotional problems. It has its place, but only if it seems magnetic.

Life Coach. Are you afraid of success or failure? A good life coach can help you determine what you really want from life and where your fears come from. I’ve talked to a few in my life and even if it can be scary, it’s very useful to understand what you want and what prevents you.

Read. Reading a good book about your specific fear can open new doors on how to get rid of it. I also like to read a lot of motivational and inspirational work on and around the subject I am dealing with.

Take action. I am a taker of action and I know that fears are only fears. They are created by my imagination so that reality looks more frightening than it is. When you act and face your fears, they weaken because you realize that reality is not as bad as your imagination.

Look. Watching a movie or documentary can be as enlightening as reading a book. Sometimes it’s nice to distract yourself from your fear, but if you really want it, you can find dozens of movies about your fear.

diet. Did you know that the food you eat can have a huge impact on your state of mind? All the sugars, additives, sweeteners and other chemicals found in our food have a surprisingly powerful effect to unbalance our body. Stick to a clean diet that suits you. Meaning, more fruits and vegetables. Just eat a little more each day. See what happens.

Positivity. Whenever fear strikes, turn it over. Instead of thinking of something bad that can happen, think of something positive. What is the positive result of your fear? If you plan to speak in public, imagine yourself having a huge success instead of failing horribly. This is very similar to # 9, but with a small twist.

Perspective. Learning to manage fear involves putting negative thoughts into perspective. We tend to focus too much on the negative. Looking at all the options, you often realize that you do not do much. There are so many things that can happen that you can not predict. We are not psychics.

Surrender. Surrender to what is powerful, because as long as we try to change what is, we are at war with reality. To learn more about how to surrender to what is, I recommend you to read Love What is: Four questions that can change your life. This is the book on The Work I mentioned earlier. I personally like

Your story. We all tell each other a story about our fear. If I’m afraid that no one appreciates my writing, I tell myself a story (in my head) about my horrible failure, people will laugh at me, or worse yet, no one will read what I have to say. What is your story?

Release control. We want to learn to control fear. We want predictability, even if it is impossible to obtain. Where we have no control, we are afraid. But is it possible to have control? Even if you know how to swim, you can drown. A professional guitarist can always make mistakes and cut a concert. Give up the illusion of control and you are free.

Help. Be kind to others. If you are shy, focus on helping people instead of being aware of your appearance or sound when you speak. Return it to other people and make yourself feel good. This is very similar to # 16.

Meaning. I think we all live things for a reason. This includes the fears we have. It also means overcoming fear and learning the lessons. That may not be the case 100% of the time, but when I look back at the challenges and fears of my life, I find that most often they delivered exactly the message I needed to time.

Model. I do not talk about dummies here. I’m talking about finding someone who has had the fear you have, but has managed to transcend it. Get in touch with them, ask them how they did it and see if it could work for you.

Pray. I am not religious, but if you are, you may want to consider praying for advice on how to overcome your specific fear. Prayer is very similar to meditation. In the end, it does not matter what you choose, as long as it works for you.

WTWTCH. What is the worst that could happen? If you are afraid to speak in public, imagine yourself on a stage where everyone is making fun of you. How do you feel after? You are still alive, are not you? Life goes on.

Yoga. The energy can remain trapped in your body. When you do yoga and breathe, this energy can be released. Sometimes you release some of your fears, or you may even find that you have lost some of them without even realizing it after a few months of yoga.

Ask. Your feelings are there to tell you something, ask what their purpose is. Ask your heart, God, the universe or anything you feel comfortable with. What are your fears trying to tell you?

understand failure. When you realize that failure is not the end of the world, you become free. Failure is only a springboard to success. And most of our fears are the fear of failure, shame or, somehow, of not meeting the standards that society has imposed on us.

Explore your roots. What is the root of your fear? This may require meditation. Look inside and ask yourself when fear has begun. If you are afraid of public failure, for example, when did this happen? Where did you feel embarrassed in public when you were younger?

Breathe. Your breath can free you. He can anchor you in the present and help you defeat and overcome your most pervasive fears. I kept it for the end because it’s one of the simplest and most powerful ways to defeat fear.
