Forgiveness
By accepting that the authority of forgiveness rests exclusively in the hands of God, the human mind is also free from any superstition or strange idea of how to forgive for the sins committed. As we said before, the path of Islamic remission is sincerity, putting an end to what was done is unjust and immoral, and returning to God in repentance and sincerity.
It also avoids the human tendency to deify other human beings in the hope that they can take care of their sins. As we mentioned earlier, this trend was not specific to one case or another. There have been so many cases in history where people were thought to be deities, manifestations, or incarnations of deities. Even though these individuals themselves have strongly denied it and have never claimed that they were more than sincere human beings.
Moreover, it eliminates and discourages the exploitation of people in the name of religion. Once you begin on an intermediary or intercessional path between man and God, even when we speak of great prophets as intercessors, then someone will say that “I am the intercessor of the intercessor “and that a chain will develop and arouse, as happened in history, the exploitation of persons in the name of religion.
There have been cases in history where people have taken the power to forgive people. You will have to pay a certain amount of money and you will get a document stating that your sins have been forgiven. Islam insists that forgiveness rests solely in the hands of God. This is one of the reasons why, in a way, Islam does not accept the concept of priesthood as it is seen in the West. You may be a religious scholar but not a priest in the terminological sense.
Finally, the belief in God’s forgiveness as the final authority leads the person to acquire a sense of responsibility. You do not depend on the state of mind that someone else will take care of your sins. No, you are individually responsible to God and, as such, you feel that you are doing your best to follow His order.
877-Why-Islam: Concept of repentance in Islam. If we sincerely repent, then continue with righteous deeds and faith, then God promises them heaven and tells them that they will never be wrong. God has no grudge. There is always a chance. Islam is a religion of hope. (Ch 19, about 60)
Pity
You could say that mercy is related to forgiveness, but we will add a few more points. Mercy also concerns the inculcation of the attitude of gratitude towards God. That is, we do not take all the blessings and benefits that God has given us for granted. We know that these are manifestations of His mercy. Even the glass of water we drink, even the smell of fresh air around us, we should always remember and think that these are all manifestations of God’s mercy. It also gives the person the feeling of assurance that there is the one who takes care of me. I could be a sinner, I could be mean, but there is still Him who cares for me, who loves me and who pities me. And it’s nobody – it’s this one. This gives a warm sense of identification with God.
In the event that the person is confronted with problems or difficulties in his life, he should never have a broken heart or despair because, as the Qur’an says, one should never despair of the mercy of God. In fact, the Qur’an says, “Do not despair of the mercy of God, for God forgives all sins, for he is forgiving and very merciful” (39:53).
“No one despairs of the merciful mercy of God, except those who have no faith.” (Qur’an, 12: 87)
Absolute Will and Power of God
To realize that all power belongs only to the hands of God removes all servitude to another human being; the servitude we could have towards other people because we hope to be able to help them. The Qur’an says that the benefit comes only from God and not from other human beings.
It also removes this bondage to other human beings in a sense of fear for themselves. That’s why we see prophets and other deeply religious people throughout history stand up to all the hardships with a lot of courage to tell the truth, not to please anyone, but only because the truth must be said.
This removes people’s excessive or excessive worry about what’s happening to them or what’s going to happen to them. The Qur’an says that nothing will happen to us except what God has meant for us to go through. No one will live for a moment more or less than what has been decided for him.
Moreover, it makes us more humble, realizing that all power is in the hands of God and therefore all that we have in terms of wealth, position or whatever we should be humble because we know that God can take everything away at any time. moment. Therefore, we do not exploit people. We do not use this power, wealth or influence to our advantage. We realize that there is a purpose to be served by having all this.
Even in the realm of politics and government, we realize once again that supreme authority belongs to God and, as such, all other human beings are equal in his eyes and that their record must be decided by a mutual consultation. (Click here to read more about the concept of consultation in Islam.)
Proximity with God
In addition to the various passages in the Qur’an that I have already quoted before affirming that God is closer to man than his jugular vein, God is close to whoever prays and that in Islam there is no no intermediary between man and God, and so on. the five daily prayers you pray for and communicate directly with God. It is the noblest, closest, and most direct personal relationship you can have with the Creator.
In addition to this, this kind of experience or concept gives the person the chance to live the spiritual experience of direct contact with God that would inevitably lead to the feeling of peace of mind and peace of heart, which is the most precious thing anyone could reach in this life. Big cars, big houses, lots of money and high-paying jobs are all superficial. The true value of life is to obtain this inner peace in the heart and in the spirit. To conclude, the Qur’an says:
“Whoever believes in God, his heart is upright.” (64:11)
“God is the protector of those who have faith: He will lead them from the depths of darkness to light. The wicked are the ones who reject the faith: they will lead them from the light to the depths of darkness. (2: 257)
“He sent peace into the hearts of believers, that they may believe their faith.” (48: 4)
“Those who believe and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of God – Hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of God.” (1:28 p.m.)
